RISD’s ICT4D Launch
RISD envisions its ICT4D system as a tool to hasten in the delivery and implementation of the second phase of Securing Land Rights Project (SLRP-2), a 3.5-year extension program being implemented by RISD through the support of the Royal Kingdom of the Netherlands Embassy. The ICT4D system shall enable automation of data management using IT, aid in the identification of key research areas on land matters, facilitate land dispute reporting in aid of land dispute resolution, and promote information-sharing between and among RISD partners. RISD’s ICT4D system is anchored on SLRP-2’s goal:
“to contribute to the effectiveness and inclusiveness of the Rwanda land reform implementation process for poverty reduction and sustainable peace as a basis for food security of Rwandans who depend on land for their livelihood”.
