3rd Annual Round Table on process of mediation in Rwanda
Rwanda Initiative for Sustainable Development (RISD) in partnership with the Ministry of Justice (MINIJUST), will host the 3rd Annual Round table on Mediation process in Rwanda on Monday February 20, 2017. The event will be held at Lemigo Hotel in Kigali - Gasabo district starting at 09:00 hours. The mediation round table brings together partners in the Access to Justice sector at MINIJUST who play different roles related to mediation to exchange views on the mediation process in Rwanda. The 2017 Round Table is yet another opportunity for partners to share experiences and give their understanding of the mediation process in the country. Special focus will be put on mediation mechanisms taking experiences from actors working closely with the Access to Justice Sector like the Ministry of Local Government (MINALOC), Ombudsman Office, the Civil Society and Abunzi.
The round table will also examine the implementation of recommendations made in the previous round tables in terms of planning the event, strengthening the mediation process and coordination among partners and actors. The meeting will further see partners set strategies to forge a head towards making the home grown mediation process in Rwanda more effective and people centered. RISD co-chairs with the Access to Justice Sector partners at MINIJUST with Embassy of the Royal Kingdom of the Netherlands.
