The African Union Land Policy Framework and Guidelines AU LPFG is the result of the Land Policy Initiative (LPI) launched in 2006 by the African Union Commission (AUC) in partnership with the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) and the African Development Bank (AfDB). In the context of the Land Policy Initiative, during 2006 – 2009, in close collaboration with the Regional Economic Commissions (RECs) in the five AU regions (namely Central Africa, Northern Africa, Eastern Africa, Southern Africa and West Africa) a participatory process took place to produce a Land Policy Framework and Guidelines.
